Duty to Consult Notification – IsoEnergy Larocque East Project

What type of activities will occur?

  1. Land based Drilling - Up to 95 drill holes are planned totaling approximately 50,000 metres. Nearly all drill holes will be completed on land more than 100 metres away from water. Drilling is expected to be focused within the red area on the attached figure. Drill holes are 63 – 96 mm and are cemented after work is completed.

  2. Line Cutting and Geophysical Survey – There is currently no plan for any line cutting or geophysical surveys for the summer of 2020. If IsoEnergy does not find the results they are looking for in the summer drill program, they will conduct line cutting and geophysical surveys in the Winter of 2020/2021. They plan to conduct up to 200 kilometres of line-cutting for geophysical surveying on the Larocque East Project in the south east block on the attached figure. All lines will be cut with hand tools (i.e. brushing where possible instead of cutting), and grid lines will be limited to 1m in width and baselines limited to 2m in width. Where possible, line cutting will be reduced by using existing grid lines. The geophysical surveys are low impact and low disturbance. Geophysical surveys use a sensor on the cut lines for mineral analysis (e.g. uranium).

  3. Temporary Work Camp - A temporary work camp will be needed, and an existing camp will be utilized. The camp site was selected as it is on dry ground, well away from Larocque Lake, and lies on an existing trail to minimize clearing. The camp is >100 metres from public roads and the high-water mark of any waterbody. The camp is expected to house a maximum of 25 people for 5 months/year for the 10-month approved permit.

Permit Information: Potentially June 2020 to March 2021.
When the work will happen: It is anticipated that this work will take up to 180 days. IsoEnergy is planning to start drilling in Summer 2020.
