Duty to Consult: Forum Energy Metals Corp. Fir Island Uranium Project

What type of activities will occur?

  1. 6000 meters of drilling, with up to 24 land-based drill holes (20 land-based and 4 ice holes).

  2. Testing geophysical targets developed from the 2017 gravity survey and the 2019 resistivity survey.

  3. Up to 10km of access trails, at a width of no more than 5 meters.

  4. Ice road will be constructed to access the site.

  5. Temporary work camp will be set-up on Fir Island.

Mitigations

  1. Edges of ice road will be kept low to minimize disturbance to land users.

  2. If there are any Caribou migrating near Fir Island, the program will be shut down until a distance suggested by the community is re-established (typically has been 10km).

  3. If the community does not want them to travel through the town to access the site, one of the fire breaks could be used for access to the lake.

When will the activities occur?

  1. January 3 to 17, 2021 (tentative) - Ice Road.

  2. January 18 to 25, 2021 (tentative) - Temporary Work Camp setup and Drill Mobilization.

  3. February 1 to March 25, 2021 (tentative) - Drill Program.

  4. March 25 to April 1, 2021 (tentative) - Demobilization of the drill program and camp.
